FAQ's
What equipment does my child need to bring to baseball camp?
We recommend that your child brings with him the following items:
· Baseball Glove
· Baseball Cleats/Spikes
· Baseball Cap
· Tennis Shoes (In case of rain for indoor workouts)
· Baseball Pants (Optional)
· Baseball Bat (Optional)
· Swim Suit/Towel (Last Day - Sliding Drill!)
If your child does bring all or some of these items, be sure to label them with your son’s name and phone number. If any items are stolen or lost, the Collierville Baseball program is not responsible for reimbursement. However, if your child loses a piece of equipment and it is recovered, we will be glad to get it to you.
Does my camper need to bring money to camp?
Throughout the week of camp, a concession stand will be set up with snack items, drinks, and souvenirs. Bringing money to camp is not a requirement, but if your camper would like to purchase a drink, snack, or souvenir then we suggest you pack some extra cash. Otherwise, water stations will be set up throughout the camp sites.
Will my camper be grouped with people his own age?
Yes, your camper will be working throughout the week on a team that consists of other campers his age.
We do insist that your camper stays within his own age group, but if one of our staff members feels that he needs to be moved into a higher age group, we will do so.
What can my camper expect to learn from camp?
The Collierville High School Baseball Camps are geared to provide coaching, competition, and facilities necessary for rapid improvement through fundamental drills and game situations. Through lectures, information will be provided on position thinking, goal setting, and other skills designed to make a difference helping campers to fulfill their potential on and off the baseball field. The weeklong camps will feature: Primary and Secondary Position Fundamentals, Hitting Mechanics, Throwing and Fielding, Bunting, Sliding, Team Offensive and Defensive Strategies, and Instructional Games.
Can others watch camp?
Parents and or youth coaches are welcome to observe the camp at anytime.
Will my son be able to get some sort of feedback after camp?
We will give feedback during camp, but we don't provide a written evaluation of every camper.
How late can I register?
Pre-Registration is encouraged. We will register campers 7 days leading up to the start of camp, however, we reserve the right to close camp at any time due to the enrollment size. Walk-up and late registration may be approved by contacting Coach Hopkins.
