Courses offered: 4 performance choirs and a General Music class

MIXED CONCERT CHOIR
A 65-75 voice choir of mixed voices
which perform a variety of styles of vocal literature
in concert and competition. Audition and performance attire required.
CHAMBER CHOIR
A select group of 18-22 mixed voices with advanced musical skills. This ensemble performs a variety of musical styles and literature from madrigals to jazz in concert, competition and community performances. Audition and performance attire required.
WOMEN'S CHOIR
A 40-50 voice choir of women's voices which performs a variety of styles of vocal literature in concert and competition. Audition and performance attire required.
ADVANCED WOMEN'S ENSEMBLE
A select group of advanced female voices. This ensemble will perform a variety of musical styles and literature from madrigals to jazz in concert, competition and community performances. Audition and performance attire required.
GENERAL MUSIC
A non-performance class which combines
basic listening skills, music of various cultures, musical styles, and
an overview of the history
of music.
No audition required.

Performance Choir Requirements
1. Concert dresses and tuxedos
(purchased by the students at an approximate cost of $60-140).
2. Yearly choral fee per student of $100.
(This fee covers all music, materials, festival and bus fees for all events.)
3. Required attendance at concerts, competitions, and dress rehearsals.

All-Southwest Senior Honor Choir Auditions
Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007 at CHS
(All CHS choir students are encouraged to audition for this select choir from the southwest region of TN. Audition pieces will be taught in class. Optional rehearsals will be offered after school in September. Students must make this choir in order to be eligible for All-State Choir.)
