CLASSROOM PROCEDURE
FAMILY CONSUMER SCIENCE COURSES


Entering the Classroom:
1. Enter quietly. Sit down immediately and begin your bellwork, this not an option.
2. Work silently and on your own.
3. When finished, be ready for the next part of class.
Quieting the Class:
When you see the teacher standing behind the podium or hear a bell, do the following:
1. Freeze.
2. Turn and face me, pay attention and keep your eyes on the teacher
3. Be ready for instruction. The teacher has something to say.
If You Were Absent: You Must have a Admit to enter class
1. Locate your classwork in the appropriate daily folder
2. Look at the weekly class sheet to find your missed assignments.
3. You are responsible for turning in missed assignments according to Shelby
County School’s policy (with out reminders).
4. Tests makeup days (to be announced)Failure to turn in work timely results in 0.
If You Are Tardy:
DO NOT BE LOUD AND DISTURB CLASS

1. Quietly sign the Late Log. It is located on the table near the door.
2. Even if the tardy is excused, you must sign in. (I will come to you to check your pass in your agenda book).
Seeking Help (without interrupting the class):
1. Raise your hand. Stay seated.
2. Please do call out or disturb other students in the process.
Dismissal at the End of the Period:
You are to remain in your seat until I dismiss the class. The bell does not dismiss the class. You do not dismiss the class. The teacher is the ONLY person that can dismiss the class.
Group Procedures:
Give encouragement.
Respect others.
Offer suggestions.
Use soft voices (do not talk too loud or shout).
Participate.
Stay in your group.
Restroom: It is very important you go between classes. School policy dictates that no one leave the room except for an emergency situation.
