INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATIONS
This is a semester course that emphasizes student preparation for independent living. The course focuses on communication within the areas of personal life, family life, community, and workplace. The role of communication in establishing and maintaining healthy interpersonal relationships is emphasized, as well as decision making and problem solving skills needed to function well in the workplace. Students will apply these skills while participating in a job shadowing experience, as well as a community service activity. Through these learning experiences, the students will explore future career interests and discover the personal value of volunteerism.
