1. Be in seat before bell rings, with materials in hand (textbook, paper, pen/pencil), beginning bellwork assignment.
2. Show respect towards teacher and fellow students at all times. (Examples of disrespectful behavior: rude and discourteous, annoying to other students, lack of cooperation, inappropriate language, getting out of seat without permission.)
3. Exhibit positive cooperation each day: absolutely no sleeping in class, no grumbling or complaining, no talking at inappropriate times.
4. Respect classroom property: no writing on tables, no throwing trash, all chair legs on floor at all times, teacher's desk off limits.
5. No eating or drinking in class, as well as no personal grooming (putting on makeup, brushing hair, etc.)
Bellwork Assignment
1. Enter class quiety, sit down immediately, and begin your bellwork. Bellwork is not optional, as it is graded daily. If you enter the room noisily, you will be required to re-enter correctly.
2. Work silently and on your own, unless directed otherwise. Failure to bring your textbook to class will result in Friday detention.
Tardiness
1. You must sign the Late Log in order to enter the classroom. It is located on the table near the door. Fill in all the information neatly.
2. Even if your tardy is excused, you must sign in. Place your pass in the basket.
3. More than one tardy per six weeks results in schoolwide detention.
4. Three detentions per six weeks results in ISS (In-School Suspension).
Absences
1. Put your excused/non-excused slip on the podium.
2. Check the weekly assignment sheet to find your missed assignment(s).
3. Locate any needed worksheets in the appropriate daily folder.
4. You are responsible for turning in the missed work on time and without reminders. Failure to turn in the work on time will result in a 0 on each missed assignment. (Note: According to Shelby County School policy, a student has as many days to make up missed work as he or she was absent.)
5. Tests must be made up in a timely manner. (See above SCS policy.) Test makeup schedule is Tuesday afternoon and Friday morning.
Class Dismissal
1. You are to remain in your seat until I dismiss the class, in order to ensure that all necessary information is communicated.
2. If you stand up or begin to close up your work before I dismiss class, you will be the last one to leave the classroom.
Bathroom Procedure
It is very important that you go to the bathroom between classes, as school policy dictates that no one is to leave the classroom except for an emergency situation.
