It is
a New Year and I am delighted that your child is in my World History

CLASS PROCEDURES and other important information:
1. Come in, sit in your assigned seat, check to see the agenda
on the overhead, follow the instructions found there. CLASS BEGINS WHEN YOU
ENTER THE ROOM, NOT WHEN THE BELL RINGS. There will be bell-work every day-
you will be graded on its completion.
2. I WILL DISMISS YOU AT THE END OF CLASS, not the bell. I will try to give
you time to gather your things to move to the next class. The phrase that
will be used most often to signal dismissal is “Have a nice morning/afternoon”.
This procedure applies to all classes including the sixth period.
3. We all need to hear the announcements. Please be courteous
and quiet when any announcements are being made in the morning or at the end
of the school day.
4. Have
all your materials with you for class. Note taking and organization are
YOUR responsibility. Choose a study partner as soon as
possible and exchange phone numbers. When absent, check with them, check
my web site and/or double-check with me for missed handouts or papers.

In a civilized society, there are rules, laws and codes of conduct. There must be orderly procedures for any operation to move smoothly and efficiently. The classroom is a microcosm of society. There are rules, procedures, and order so that each student may have the best public education. No student will be allowed to interfere with the process of learning. I look forward to your help and cooperation in making this a successful and productive year.
