In-School Suspension Rules
All students assigned to In -School- Suspension will read and be familiar with
the following rules and instructions with the understanding that violating a
rule will subject the student to Out- Of-School- Suspension.
1. Be in your seat, in the ISS room, when the tardy bell rings for first
period.
2. Bring ALL books, notebooks, workbooks, calculator, paper and pen/pencil
with you. You will
not be allowed to leave the room to get these items. You will receive zeros
on work you do
not have the supplies to complete and you will be given an alternate assignment.
3. You will spend the entire day in study. Your teachers will give you
written assignments
which will be returned to them for grading. If you finish the work before
the end of the school
day and are not busy studying, the ISS teacher will give you additional
work.
4. You will not talk or work with other students. You must remain quiet
the entire day. You
will not sleep or engage in any activity other than studying.
5. You will be given one break, under supervision, in the morning to
go to the bathroom and
get a drink of water. A second break should be taken during your
lunch break. The is no
break after you return from lunch.
6. When placed in ISS, you must spend the assigned time before being
allowed to return to
your regular classes. If you are absent from school during any
of the assigned time, you
will make up whatever portion missed by spending additional time
in ISS.
7. Writing on or in any way defacing the furniture in the ISS room
will not be allowed.
8. If you have a question for the ISS teacher, raise your hand.
Do not speak until the teacher
acknowledges you. You are to remain seated unless given permission
to be out of your
seat.
9. You have been given a parent letter, informing them of your
placement in ISS. It will be
returned to the administrator assigning you ISS within 48 hours.
10. In accordance with the regulations from the State Department
of Education, any student
assigned to ISS who refuses to attend or abide by any and all
rules and limits of the
program will be removed from ISS and will serve the remainder
of the suspension as an
Out- of -School- Suspension.
