Week 11 (Mar 24)

Print out Nashtrip expense report. We have a second expense report we are doing--manually first and then on the basic saved keyed form.

You leave today for Atlanta, GA for a meeting with a client. Your NW Flight round trip is $399.05. You leave this morning at 7:00 a.m. and will return Wednesday night at 3:00 p.m. You are staying at the Atlanta Garden Resort at a cost of 217.49 per night. You drive your car to Memphis International (we will go on line to see how far it is from Cville to Memphis International. You will be reimbursed at .40 per mile. You park your car in long term parking at the airport.

Upon your arrival in Atlanta, the hotel shuttle meets you and takes you to the hotel--you tip the driver $5. You check in at the hotel; grab some lunch at the hotel ($11.57). You take a taxi to meet Mr. Jameson, CEO of Technology Temps. The taxi is $38. You take a taxi back to the hotel $38 again.

beginning today: all keyed papers must have a header: first name/last name strike enter and intsert date/time enter and add the Period number of the class ex. Period 1.

1) Students need to add proofreading symbols from keyboarding textbook--page 16 to their notebooks; discuss the proofreader's marks/symbols on Appendix K1 of the MO Word Applications (yellow book); create a table--supply the heading Document Layout and Design Stats. Effective immediately, the following guidelines will be used when completing and filing expense reports. All expenses reports must be in the accounting office no later than 30 days following the completion of a business trip. Receipts are required for the following items: airplane travel, taxi rides, meal receipts only when taking a client out for a meal, car rental, and other business expenses that involve the use of hotel business conference centers (such as having copies made, use of word processing items, etc.).

Travel is the second largest expense for our company (salary expense is the largest expense). Travel is an area that we can save corporate dollars by utilizing careful planning. Make use of booking flights in advance to lower ticket cost. Any business trip that is 2 hours or less from corporate headquarters are not eligible for airline use.

There will be a company wide travel seminar next month. Every Wednesday and Thursday afternoon, representatives from Accounting will be available in the Harper Conference Auditorium to answer questions concerning these changes.
