Please read: Hello, Document Formatting. I will be out again all this week. My husband is doing much better. We came home on Friday. Our goal is to get him into a routine of sorts as he is on the road to recovery. I hope to be back sometime next week. Thank you for your patience and understanding during my absence.
Please, please, please, etc. print out a directions sheet on top of your work (as I asked you last week). This helps me greatly--I did count off if you do not have a directions sheet last week. Your work should also be stapled (I counted off for that has well). You have a test on Tuesday over Ch. 4/5 as I mentioned to you last week. You will be getting papers back today so get everything in your notebook. Also, please stack the small green books neatly at the end of the rows.
For one of your assignments this week (at random), I will count that as a homework assignment. Work is to be turned in the day it is assigned. You are subject to receiving a 0 if you do not do this--turn in completed or not! Put header information on all MWord activities.
There has been cheating going on--I will address this with your grade level assistant principal this week (for the impacted parties). You are to do your own work. Cheating results in a referral, a phone call home, and a zero.
1) Test review. For everything you do for the review, print two copies. One copy is turned in to the sub for me to grade--the second extra copy is for you to take home and review (so you can study tonight!!). You should review how to average and do a sum (total) in Excel and be able to print gridlines. For the test, you will not need to review how to make a chart in Excel. You will need to know how to make a basic database in Access. You will need to know how to make a greeting card or a background design in Microsoft Publisher. Review all questions and activities we had for these chapters.
Review activities: Create a database in Access that has the following information. Personal title (such as Mr.), First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, Career Goal, Favorite College. Put the following information into your database: Ms. Anne C. Cartwright, webpage designer, U of Alabama; Mr. Charlie L. Borden, truckdriver, U of Mississippi; Mr. Joe B. West, computer tech, U of Georgia; Mrs. Patricia W.Davis, teacher, Mississippi State; and information about you. Sort these in ascending order by last name. (go to records to sort)
Excel Review activity: Collierville High School Midland Scores; sub-headings: First name, Last name, Grade Level, Act 1, Act. 2, Act. 3.
Sherry Dill, 9th, 70, 77, 85; Ester Elliott, 10th, 80, 80, 64; Steve Valesky, 11th, 88, 54, 27; your first/last name and grade level. Grades for you: 87, 94, 91.
For the data above: Make the heading and sub-headings look different; Make sure you merge to center. Find the average first--print with gridlines. Find the totals--print without gridlines.
Pull up a blank page in Microsoft Publisher. Put in a background design. Put your first name only inside a star drawing.

Key 85b--key each line, then immediately repeat the line.
85c--set up tabs. Remember, numbers should be lined up on the right hand side (what kind of tab are you going to use--a right tab would work for this activity since there are no decimal points. Make sure the columns are evenly spaced left to right and top to bottom for 85c (on a page to itself).
85d--Key the sentences correctly. Key the rule shown in yellow. If the sentence says learn in front, then it is correct as is--just key the sentence. If the sentence says apply, key the sentence and use the correct word(s).
Key 85e--1x.
By the way, what are the three types of tabs? Your answer is on your computer screen. Please list these tabs. Turn in your work today, completed or not to the sub. Make sure you put your direction sheet and header information in.
