Thought question: (not in either text).. What if we decided to relocate the library at CHS to another area in the school. Where would you put it? What items would need to be considered in deciding where it would go? How long do you think it would take to pack everything up? What supplies would you need? Would you hire an outside firm? Send out a memo to all staff. Let them kow the library will be relocated over the summer (not really, just pretend to move). In the memo, let them know more details will be forthcoming before the end of the school year. Use your own wording.

Select a topic from The Office and make a 8 1/2 x 11 handout on this topic--5 sentences, 2 graphics, and a subject.

How is mail distributed at work?

List other mail type carriers others than the post office. How do they differ from the post office.

Blue Book, Ch. 23- 545-547--class will list the types of equipment found in an office mailroom. Class will go on line to see if we can find examples of this equipment and how much it might cost.

What are courier services? (examples are found in the Blue Book, Ch. 23. How does a courier service work? (make a brief statement about this-you can use information directly from the textbook--include a graphic and bullet format. Additional information to be included is found on page 607 of The Ofc textbook.

Class will go on line to see what couriers are available in Shelby County (and hopefully find some price information as well). Discuss when you might want to use a courier.

Class will discuss this wording: All employees are eligible for the Employee Assistance Program. This program offers help to employees who have a substance abuse problem--weather addicted or not. Any employee whose job performance and conduct on the job have been impacted by the substance abuse are required to participate in the Employee Assistance Program. Failure to participate in the program when job performance and conduct on the job are impacted will result in job termination.

The Employee Assistance Program allows an employee to attend counseling sessions (the first 5 sessions are free and the remainder of the sessions are the same as your doctor visit co-pay (for each visit). If treatment requires employees to stay at a treatment center, company will allow employee to have 14 "free" days with pay (meaning you will not have vacation/sick days deducted) to help in the employee treatment. Additional time at a treatment center, may be taken with vacation/sick time employee has accumulated.

Documentation from the medical staff is required in all situations. Human Resources will review each case individually. Please note that an employee may only have the 14 free days one time in a 12 month time period.
