Course description: Life Science presents concepts of the origin and basis of all life on earth starting with the cell and cell functions, and progressing through classification and a comparative look at characteristics of each kingdom.

 

Course objective:

To lay a solid foundation for higher level science courses by helping students...

...understand concepts and relate them to their daily activities and societal issues.

...develop competency in scientific skills using cognitive skills, critical thinking and hands-on practice.

 

Required materials: Three-ring binder with dividers, two pencils, blue or black pen, red pen, roll of paper towels, and a $5.00 lab fee.

 

 

Notes:

Students will keep a Grade Sheet/ Progress Report for each six weeks in the front of their binder. It is their responsibility to keep grades recorded and maintain their current average for both themselves and their parent(s).

Make-up work is the responsibility of the student. He/she should check with the teacher to request missed assignments and any handouts.

Late assignments will be accepted one day late only for partial credit.

Each six-week period will end with a project or report which is done entirely outside of the classroom and will be assigned with two to three weeks advanced notice.

If assignments are typed, please use a conservative font , size 12 and double spacing.
